Official Languages

The Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) is committed to the objectives of Section 41 of Part VII of Canada's Official Languages Act, and works to enhance the vitality and support the development of the Official Language Minority Communities (OLMCs) in the territories, and foster the full recognition and use of both English and French in Canadian society.

Action Plan

CanNor's first Action Plan was designed to recognize the ongoing development of the Agency.  Over the course of a few years the Plan spans the development of measures and mechanisms CanNor will implement to help address OLMCs' needs and realities in the territories. The 2011-2016 Action Plan is seen as a starting point to support OLMC in the territories in a coherent and consistent manner.

Report on Results

CanNor's first Report on Results captures the Agency's progress in support of OLMCs in the three territories, over the two years since the Agency's creation in August 2009.
