Table of contents

Introduction

In 2018, Parliament passed the Canadian Gender Budgeting Act. The departmental plans and departmental results reports are being used to fulfill the President of the Treasury Board's obligations to make public, every year, analysis on the impacts of expenditure programs on gender and diversity.

Each organization is responsible for conducting their own Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA Plus)

Applicability

All organizations must complete GBA Plus supplementary information tables in departmental plans and departmental results reports on an annual basis.

General information: Institutional GBA Plus capacity

Governance

In 2023-24, CanNor initiated the renewal of its data strategy to support and guide the work surrounding the collection, storage and maintenance of data, including GBA Plus data, across the Agency. This includes developing standardized reporting tools and guidance/training for officers to ensure consistent and accurate application.

The GBA Plus Champion and officer will continue to support GBA Plus initiatives across the Agency, working with the broader GBA Plus community in the Government of Canada to share best practices.

Capacity

Currently, all performance indicator data is stored in CanNor's internal reporting and tracking systems. In 2024-25, CanNor will renew the Agency's GBA Plus action plan and continue to work towards a data management solution and an internal reporting structure to ensure that Agency's data can be more easily managed, manipulated for reporting and shared. Furthermore, CanNor will continue to secure sources of GBA Plus training that supports specialized functions in the Agency.

Highlights of GBA Plus results reporting by program

Through its programs, CanNor continues to track and report on the labour participation rate of women and Indigenous peoples in the territories. In 2024-25, CanNor will continue to implement its ongoing commitment to the advancement of GBA Plus objectives and principles through our programs and initiatives. CanNor will identify the intersection between GBA Plus and other Agency strategies (e.g., Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility). CanNor will continue to work towards a data management solution and internal reporting structure to ensure that Agency data can be managed and manipulated for reporting and decision-making. Furthermore, CanNor will continue to support GBA Plus training, initiatives, and collaboration with the GBA Plus community in the Government of Canada.

In 2024-25, CanNor will continue to collect GBA Plus data through results indicators tied to the Departmental Results Framework, specifically the labour force participation rate of women and Indigenous peoples in the Territories.

All of CanNor's programs gather the same GBA Plus related data using the same methodology.
